Amsterdam, December 16, 2024 – SkyNRG is pleased to announce that Maarten van Dijk, previously the Chief Development Officer, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Maarten has been with the company as a co-founder since its inception in 2009. With SkyNRG’s first capacity development project, DSL-01, nearing final investment decision in 2025, Maarten is ideally positioned to lead the next stage of the company’s growth due to his deep knowledge of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) industry, project development expertise, and proven leadership skills.
Maarten will be succeeding Philippe Lacamp as part of a planned leadership transition to accelerate the scale-up phase of the business, which has included the appointment of Noud Tillemans as the Chief Financial Officer in April 2024 and with a Chief Operating Officer to be appointed in due course. The other co-founder of SkyNRG, Theye Veen, will continue in his position as Chief Commercial Officer.
Philippe Lacamp has successfully overseen the evolution of SkyNRG from a start-up to a scale-up over the past three years, including the introduction of Macquarie Asset Management as the largest investor in the company, and will be assisting Maarten and the executive team with the transition. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Philippe, who has guided SkyNRG through a transformative period of growth and helped to lay the foundation for an exciting future.
